Cross-flow filtration is when the water is pumped at 180 degrees (past) the membrane (filter) surface. It is in effect having a pipe whose walls are porous and lets certain, very clean particles through while pumping the rest away.
As water flows past the filter surface, some water passes through sideways and is thus purified, while dirty water continues down the line past the filter and is discarded as effluent.
Flowing Past Christ is good BUT is not Salvation
22 And He went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem. 23 Then one said to Him, “Lord, are there few who are saved?”
And He said to them, 24 “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able. 25 When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open for us,’ and He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know you, where you are from,’ 26 then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.’ 27 But He will say, ‘I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.’ 28 There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out. 29 They will come from the east and the west, from the north and the south, and sit down in the kingdom of God. 30 And indeed there are last who will be first, and there are first who will be last.”
” (Luke 13:22–30, NKJV)
Traditional Filtration
Traditional filtration is when all the dirty water flow is pumped through the filter. Particles smaller than the effective pore size pass through as clean water, and particles that are larger build up and close up the filter over time. The assumption that being in church and attending programs will clean you and make you Christlike by default is wrong.
Many Christians spend years in church and do not grow at all in their salvation. They assume tick-box salvation and fail to comprehend scripture’s urgency for Christians to keep on growing the keep on clinging to Christ until the end.
Quick Check
How many adult men, not on staff, attend or play an active spiritual role in prayer meetings or general church meetings? How many Bible school classes are given by older men who are proper elders? None?!
Christians like using words like “Jesus” or “Holy Spirit” and “saved” but most of what we experience in the modern church has been dumbed down for mass production and has unintentionally lost the power of Salvation.
The Gospel
Medium and long-term spiritual growth is impossible without a very clear understanding of exactly what is GOSPEL and what is charismatic culture club.
