Sin came into the earth and into Man (Adam) by eating. This is profound. Sela!
Now life and salvation also comes into Man by eating.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.48. “I am the bread of life.49. “Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead.50. “This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die.51. “I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”52. The Jews therefore quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?”53. Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.54. “Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.55. “For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed.56. “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.57. “As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me.
John 6:47-57
Christ Himself became a Man and then later became a Life-giving Spirit
44. It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.45. And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.46. However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual.47. The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven.48. As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly.49. And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man. 50. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption.
1 Corinthians 15:44-50
Not by might but by My Spirit
So he answered and said to me:
“This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:
‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
Says the Lord of hosts.
Zechariah 4:6
Christ Crucified is death to the flesh and Life by the Spirit
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.3. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh,4. that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.5. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.6. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Romans 8:1-6
The Deeds of the Body are put to death by the Spirit
Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.13. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.14. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Romans 8:12-14
The Redemption of the Body
Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.
Romans 8:23
Religion does not work against sin, only the Spirit
Therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations—21. “Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle,”22. which all concern things which perish with the using—according to the commandments and doctrines of men?23. These things indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and neglect of the body, but are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh. If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.2. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.3. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.4. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.5. Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.6. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience,7. in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.
