It is good and important to learn WHO GOD IS, but we often fail to comprehend THAT GOD IS.
It might be half the story.
When we change the nature of God away from the biblical revelation we inevitable deny THAT HE IS because we are promoting another God (our own imagination).
BUT
Even if we promote the correct biblical picture we still often fail to believe THAT GOD IS.
He really does exist and is present in the room now and watching intently what we do.
