Missing this point leads countless Christians into fake spirituality and dead religion.
The veil that tore in the temple was not so God could get out, it was so God could get in.
The Holiest of Holies was the inner sanctuary and holy place of God’s fellowship and intimacy with Israel. It was her heart, the place God wanted to sow his seed in.
God has now gone into the heart of man so that man could be regenerated (born again).

Fruit is Fruit, Root is Root
Salvation is now primarily an INTERNAL work. Fruit is mandatory and cannot be fabricated EXTERNALLY. Good fruit grows out of good root, out good seed as it were.
The fruit of the Spirit grows out of the root of salvation in our hearts. This is what Jesus is referring to in John 15,
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
” (John 15:5, NKJV)
as well as the parable of the sower.
Old Testament vs New Testament
It is tragic how many Christians misunderstand the difference between these two covenants. It is in fact a general church catastrophe.
The Old Testament with the types and shadows and the prophets and the signs and wonders was EXTERNAL to the heart of Man. The purpose of the Old Testament was as an example and as a map for us who are now indwelt and filled by the life Giving Spirit.
Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.
1 Corinthians 10:11
God’s working with Mankind and the Earth has moved primarily from EXTERNAL to INTERNAL.
- The Old Testament was EXTERNAL with vague hints about something INTERNAL.
- The New Testament is INTERNAL with vague interest in the EXTERNAL.
The fullness of the New Heavens, the New Earth and the New Jerusalem will still be primarily INTERNAL, because truly that is where the nature of God, the Life of God and Salvation presides, BUT there will also be glorious fulfillment in perfect union with the EXTERNAL.
EXTERNAL rituals like tithing, Sunday morning sing-song, Israel obsession, social justice, politics, calling job and career the will of God etc is missing the point, because the focus of God in the New Testament is the long prophesied salvation by regeneration within.
Removing human suffering and pain is not at all a focus in the New Testament. The Old Testament was a prosperity covenant, but the New Testament is a salvation and a trip into the SPIRIT.
Regeneration by the Spirit is such a profound shift and one clear strategy of the devil is convince Christians to think EXTERNAL activities like tithing Sunday morning sing-song and other EXTERNAL things are SPIRIT.
KNOWING God is intimate and internal. Regrettably many will miss it.
