Prophets and prophesying are always about Jesus
9 Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. ” (Revelation 19:9–10, NKJV)
Of this salvation the prophets have inquired
Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you,11. searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.12. To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things which angels desire to look into.

“And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them nor be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you and you dwell among scorpions; do not be afraid of their words or dismayed by their looks, though they are a rebellious house.7. “You shall speak My words to them, whether they hear or whether they refuse, for they are rebellious.8. “But you, son of man, hear what I say to you. Do not be rebellious like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you.”

My heart within me is broken Because of the prophets;

And like a man whom wine has overcome,
Because of the Lord,
And because of His holy words.
For the land is full of adulterers; For because of a curse the land mourns.
The pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up. Their course of life is evil,
And their might is not right. “For both prophet and priest are profane;
Yes, in My house I have found their wickedness,” says the Lord.

They prophesied by Baal And caused My people Israel to err.

So that no one turns back from his wickedness. All of them are like Sodom to Me,

‘Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, And make them drink the water of gall;
For from the prophets of Jerusalem Profaneness has gone out into all the land.’ ”

Who will not fear?
The Lord God has spoken!
Who can but prophesy?

And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.29. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles?30. Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?31. But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.
