As Christians we sometime get notions in our heads or experiences, which we like, hate or misunderstand and then we start developing theology and doctrine around them. Pastors are also often very guilty of this.
Just like Tau in the movie “The Gods Must Be Crazy”, we interpret something like the Coke bottle falling from the sky as an omen, a blessing or a curse. We develop complex theories about God and His actions that really have often have nothing to do with God, or are simply not correct.

We must be careful to major on the major issues and minor on the minor issues.
Our greatest guide here is the Bible itself.
